After I Changed My College Application, My Parents Regretted It

When the torrential rain came, my parents left me at our old home and drove off together to rescue my younger sister. The floodwaters swept the house away, and I spent the whole night soaking in filthy water before anyone rescued me. A bacterial infection left me feverish and unconscious. After waking up, I borrowed a phone to let everyone know I was safe. The moment I logged into WeChat, I saw my sister's post. Her whole family was gathered around a barbecue, smiles on every face. The caption read: The meaning of family is that they can't bear to see you in even the slightest danger. I didn't cry or make a fuss. I silently liked the post and replied: I'm so jealous of your family of three. Later, I secretly changed my university application choices and went far away from my parents. But the two of them, who had always favored my sister, came begging me to go home.
