The Day She Took Off Her Phoenix Crown, the New Emperor Went Mad

Synopsis: Aimed at female readers. She marries the man who is Crown Prince and soon to be emperor, but he spends their wedding night sitting by the bed rather than lifting her red bridal veil. He loves another woman, a palace maid. Clearheaded and independent, she has no wish to remain in the palace and compete with her for his favor. So she makes a pact with him: they will be husband and wife in name only, and once he ascends the throne, she will ask him to issue an edict deposing her as empress, making way for his beloved. Years later, when she is ready to leave the palace with the edict in hand, he regrets it.
