The Cat Spirit's Book of Life and Death: Starting Tonight, I'll Build Merit and Become Human

The spirit of a cat that died in a firecracker accident latches onto Lan Meng, a girl who can communicate with the dead. This arrogant ghost wants to be reborn as a human. To collect 365 specks of kind-hearted stardust, the unlikely duo roam a convenience store at midnight, a haunted house, and a senior activity center, helping a drunkard develop a sense of responsibility for plants and teaching a hanged ghost how to tie a necktie. When a hidden stain from a can of fish food appears on the stardust necklace, memories of a brutal killing in a past life resurface. Their absurd quest for merit comes to a head at an amusement park in the pouring rain: should Lan Meng trade years of her life as a medium to make the cat spirit human, or let a century-old obsession dissolve into a shower of cherry blossoms?
