[Decisive and ruthless, high-octane thrills, power sequences, Classic of Mountains and Seas mythology, a touch of cosmic horror, high-powered urban fantasy]
A torrential downpour on the last subway train in Magic City marks the turning point in Lin Jin’s fate.
The moment the filters clouding his perception dissolve completely, he sees the other side of the world with his own eyes!
The tunnel beyond the train window becomes a corridor of flesh. The security officer’s pupils split into vertical, triangular slits. The LED screen flashes a blood-red warning:
“Next stop: Guixu.”
As the bloodline heir to China’s guardian deity, Lin Jin inherits a “living containment facility.”
Every anomalous creature he contains unlocks a new sequence!
The Myriad Forms Eye can see the true forms of the strange beasts in the Classic of Mountains and Seas, while the Guixu Lock can imprison the whispers of the Old Ones.
Then one day, his father’s bronze compass points toward the Antarctic ice abyss, and his mother’s last words echo in his mind:
“When the Nine Cauldrons shatter, China will be plunged into eternal night.”
So he sets out on a journey, starting as an intern investigator at Bureau 749:
Contain Huashe and command the waters of the world; suppress Xingtian and awaken his battle spirit.
From the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang to the Sanxingdui ruins and the sunken civilization of Atlantis, Lin Jin is everywhere.
Gathering the Nine Cauldrons, reforging the barrier around the Nine Provinces, and protecting China becomes Lin Jin’s lifelong mission!
In a modern city roiling with undercurrents, the myths have never died.
Tonight, in the name of the Observer, Lin Jin will stake humanity’s last hope on the line.
