Haikyuu!!: A New Journey

When the wild freedom of beach volleyball collides with the strict systems of indoor volleyball, a revolutionary new style of the game bursts onto the scene! After traveling to Brazil, Shoyo Hinata returns with the untamed instincts of street volleyball. Wielding an overweight coconut volleyball like a sword and using fishing-net drills as his shield, he breaks free from the Japanese volleyball world's rigid ideas of what counts as “proper” play. He'll stir up a storm at the Tokyo Hayabusa Club, challenging established powerhouses in the professional league with original tactics that blend beach volleyball and soccer. Meanwhile, his former rival Tobio Kageyama has become the Osaka Whales' star setter, building an impenetrable volleyball fortress with precise data analysis and ever-evolving serves. From their clash of philosophies at Aoba Johsai's gym to their fierce rivalry at the national team trials, and then to being forced to work together at the Olympic qualifiers, the two gradually come to understand each other's burning passion for volleyball as they compete and learn to work together. On the world stage, facing the sheer height and crushing spikes of the European and American powerhouses, Hinata and Kageyama will break free of the constraints of positions and rules. Combining the nimble adaptability of a “streetball libero” with the precise foresight of a “data-driven setter,” they'll create unprecedented hybrid tactics. As the battered volleyball carrying the dreams of a boy from a Brazilian favela traces an erratic arc through Maracana Stadium, they'll prove to the world that volleyball has no fixed formula. Only passion and the courage to push boundaries can keep dreams soaring forever above the net!
