I’m a Strategist in Great Qin, and the First Emperor Takes My Advice

The Great Qin has only just been established. Though the six kingdoms have fallen, the realm is still far from stable. In Guanzhong, grain prices are soaring, refugees crowd the roads, and resentment is boiling over. An urgent edict places the responsibility for restoring order on Crown Prince Fusu’s shoulders and gives him just three days to find a solution, warning that if he fails, the heir apparent’s position may go to someone else. Lin Yuan, who has transmigrated into this world, is merely an obscure advisor in Fusu’s residence. But he possesses a mysterious “strategist” capable of discerning the past and present and calculating every possible outcome. With Chancellor Li Si looking on coldly, Chamberlain Zhao Gao applying pressure with quiet menace, and the court trapped in its reliance on harsh laws and punishments, Lin Yuan knows this is both a desperate predicament and his only chance to rise in this turbulent age. While everyone else is at a loss, or advocates crushing the crisis through brutal force, Lin Yuan proposes an unprecedented strategy: “Three measures of relief and four measures of equalization, guiding people with incentives.” Using economic ideas and principles of public welfare far ahead of their time, he aims to resolve the crisis sweeping Guanzhong without bloodshed. More astonishingly, just as he is explaining his plan to Fusu, Qin Shi Huang himself arrives at the study! Under the pressure of the emperor’s presence, Lin Yuan remains composed. Their exchange not only resolves the crisis at hand, it also outlines grand plans for hydraulic projects connecting the north and south, as well as a network of imperial highways spanning the realm. He leaves the First Emperor utterly astounded. “You. Very good.” Those three words alone decide Lin Yuan’s fate. He rises overnight from a humble advisor to a retainer of the Crown Prince, entering the very heart of Great Qin’s power. Yet beneath the surface, the Xianyang Palace is rife with intrigue, remnants of the fallen six kingdoms remain a threat, and the northern nomads are watching hungrily... Armed with a peerless strategist, serving a benevolent crown prince, and facing an extraordinary ruler
