Entering the Imperial Harem, a Benevolent Healer Uses Merit to Cure the Mad Emperor

Su Wantang, a modern Chinese medicine student, transmigrates into the body of the lowest-ranking medicine apprentice in the imperial palace of Great Chu. After accidentally saving a palace maid on the verge of death, she activates a Merit System. Its interface reads: “Do one good deed a day, and merits can be exchanged for medical texts, spirit plants, and medicinal recipes.” With rewards from the system, including the incomplete Thousand Gold Remedies and the Supplement to the Imperial Cuisine, she treats an elderly woman from the Laundry Bureau, a deposed consort in the Cold Palace, and finally the gravely ill, deranged Emperor Xiao Chenbi. Amid the palace’s undercurrents, she uses a benevolent physician’s kindness to turn the tide: exposing the poison scheme behind a charlatan’s fake miracle cure, using medicinal cuisine to treat the emperor’s cold poison, and redeeming the Nine-Flower Jade Dew Salve with merit points to slow the failure of his heart. The deranged emperor goes from suspicion to reliance, gradually lowering his guard. As they pamper each other, they uncover the truth behind the “Immortal Emperor’s Fall into Demonic Corruption” years ago. In the end, Su Wantang reaches perfect merit and cures the emperor. Together, they resolve the old grudges of the previous dynasty and forge a legendary imperial couple.
