Taking the Imperial Exams in the Qian Dynasty

Pan Yun, a modern university student studying science and engineering, lost both his parents as a child and made it all the way to university through work-study programs and scholarships. He thought knowledge would eventually rewrite the hardships fate had dealt him, but one ordinary night, he fell into an eternal sleep in his dormitory bed.

When he opened his eyes again, he had become a four-year-old farm boy in an alternate ancient dynasty. His frail body couldn't even wring a chicken's neck, let alone carry a load or lift anything heavy, and he struggled to get by in his impoverished farming household. He knew that in this era, only education could break the shackles of fate. So this little farmer, carrying memories of the modern world, gripped his books and resolutely set out on the path to the imperial examinations. From working in the fields to studying by lamplight, watch as he wields his wits like a blade, cuts through class barriers, and writes his own tale of an unlikely rise in this unfamiliar ancient world.
