Synopsis

On his way home to visit family, special forces soldier Wu Quan came upon a serious traffic accident. As he risked his life to rescue passengers in danger, an explosion sent him tumbling off a cliff, leaving him with a severe brain injury and unconscious. While unconscious, he dreamed that he had returned to the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty, where he served under Niu Fu, Dong Zhuo's son-in-law, as a military commandant leading five hundred Xiliang cavalrymen. Thus he entered the stage of history, fighting across the land. After early victories and later defeats, he led some of Dong Zhuo's remaining forces, along with refugees and surrendered Yellow Turban and White Wave generals gathered along the way, as they fled to Liaodong Commandery. There, Wu Quan governed diligently, encouraged farming and sericulture, and was joined by famous scholars such as Guan Ning, Bing Yuan, and Wang Lie. He subdued Goguryeo and the Three Han, reestablished the four Xuantu commanderies, and kept the Eastern Xianbei and Eastern Wuhuan in check. In five years, he built an elite army of more than 150,000 soldiers. When civil war broke out in the Central Plains, he seized the opportunity to take Youzhou and Jizhou, then gradually expanded his territory. In the end, he unified the realm and restored the Han dynasty, which history called “Wu Han”... By then, several years had passed since Wu Quan's dream journey. On a night of thunder, lightning, and rain, he suddenly awoke, bringing his extraordinary dream to an end...

Any Good Three Kingdoms Novels That Hold Up? No Arbitrary Dumbed-Down Characters

I'd like something light and funny without awkward humor. A System story, a tale of strategy, or one about a lone hero traveling a thousand miles would all be fine. Are there any stories where one side is fighting a civil war while the factions on both sides send troops to fight abroad?

In a Reading Slump, Looking for Heartbreaking Stories

I want a tragic romance that isn't sad just for the sake of being sad. No stories that put men on a pedestal, and nothing too long because I won't be able to finish it. Preferably completed.
