The Lightless Sequence

In a near-future city where smartphones and surveillance cameras are everywhere, a “Hidden World” lurks beneath the technological prosperity of the “Surface World,” its existence concealed at all costs by the “Global Bureau of Anomalous Affairs.” The story of "Sequence Without Light" begins with Lin Shen, heir to an antique shop. His quiet life is turned upside down when his father vanishes under mysterious circumstances and a strange relic called the “Secret-Pattern Casket” appears.

Forced into this hidden realm, he encounters the whispers of ancient gods, warped secret domains, and horrifying occult relics. Here, “knowledge” itself is a contaminant, and every search for the truth risks the collapse of one’s sanity. The cult known as the “Afterglow Sect” spreads chaos from the shadows, seeking to usher in the Old Ones, while multinational conglomerates greedily seize supernatural power and conduct forbidden experiments.

With a cool head and rigorous logic, Lin Shen navigates the complex factions within the official containment agency “Gate of Ashes” and the self-serving free superhumans. He must survive in the gap between modern technology and inexplicable supernatural phenomena, investigate a series of urban anomalies, and gradually unravel the mystery of the “Sequence Without Light” power system, as well as the despairing truth behind his father’s disappearance. This story invites readers to explore how humanity might preserve its remaining reason and hope when the beacon of technology goes dark and all that remains is an abyss without light.
