Rise on the Tenth Day

When memories become editable code, and death is merely the migration of consciousness, seven souls trapped in a time loop must piece together the bloody truth buried ten years ago within ten days.

In 2025, memory restoration specialist Lin Yan awakens on Mirror Abyss Island, trapped in a time loop that resets every day at 05:00. There is a storm-lashed island, a machine room roaring with gears, surveillance screens streaked with blood, and companions whose identities change at random with every loop: Su Wangyan, a pharmacologist with burns on the left side of her face; Tang Wei, a former detective who always carries a tactical dagger; and a mysterious man who never takes off his white coat. The barcode numbers on the backs of their necks shift like a curse. Only the girl in the red dress remains as she was in the first loop, carving clues in her own blood onto a morgue freezer.

Lin Yan has one clear, unwavering goal: find his younger sister Xiaoyu, who disappeared in a laboratory explosion on Mirror Abyss Island ten years ago. But as the loops go on, he gradually discovers that his memories are fragmented. Every time he dies, his consciousness transfers to a test subject with a different number, and the digits at the end of the barcode on the inside of his wrist change from “07” to “00,” matching the red-dressed girl's number. The gear assembly reveals that Mirror Abyss Island is structured as a Mobius loop. An embryo in a culture dish beats with a heartbeat synchronized to time. The corpse in morgue freezer No. 17 bears the same barcode on the back of its neck as he does. Every clue points to one cruel truth: they died in the experiment ten years ago, and now their consciousnesses are merely cycling through spare bodies.

The Everbright Group's “Everbright Project” comes to light: by implanting neural chips, the brain waves of seven children were synchronized and controlled in an attempt to create someone who could master
