When her family falls on hard times, bubble tea shop worker Lin Xiaoman is forced to take odd jobs. Then she unexpectedly awakens the “Gold Medal Emcee System,” whose panel assigns her hosting gigs by force. From chaotic family dinners to commercial events gone off the rails, weddings disrupted by scheming rivals to community mediation sessions that need someone to take charge, she uses skills granted by the System, such as “quick-witted repartee” and “atmosphere control,” to resolve crises with her sharp, funny tongue and face-slaps her jealous former best friend and the rival who steals her bookings. Along the way, she and Gu Mingchuan, a sunny, athletic fitness club owner, go from trading barbs (he’s always teasing her that she “talks more than a set of dumbbells” when she hosts) to understanding each other. As they take on tasks like planning a golden wedding anniversary for local seniors and raising funds for a stray animal shelter, sparks begin to fly. In the end, Lin Xiaoman becomes a renowned “all-purpose emcee,” and Gu Mingchuan drops his “lion-like, haughty” act and confesses his feelings. Meanwhile, her former best friend Su Yao, who tried to plagiarize her scripts and sabotage her events, is exposed for her dark past and thoroughly disgraced.
