The story follows two boys living in a remote village. They had hoped to settle down and farm in peace, but one boy’s talent earns him the villain’s jealousy. The villain secretly sabotages his chances of taking the imperial examinations and ruins his reputation. The protagonist dreams of becoming the top scorer, but faces restrictions due to his identity and a lack of resources. If his secret as someone reborn is exposed, he will be hunted down. He is short on ability and knows little about the exams, while the village’s resources are depleted and study materials are hard to come by. With the examination date drawing near, he must rapidly expand his knowledge. Meanwhile, the villain’s betrayal and manipulation leave him unable to trust anyone. Facing one obstacle after another, the protagonist uses his quick wits and the foresight that came with being reborn to resolve misunderstandings and study hard.
