After Becoming a Farmer’s Wife, I Became Empress with My Immortal Estate

When Lin Wanyi opens her eyes, she has become a peasant woman on the verge of starving to death in a desolate village on the northern frontier of the Great Yan Dynasty. Her mother-in-law is cruel, her sisters-in-law scheme against her, and even her husband despises her, claiming she brings bad luck to men. Facing famine and malice, her only advantages are a modern knowledge base bound to her soul and a sack of sweet potato seeds. When the whole village runs out of food, the sweet potatoes in her backyard save lives, but also attract the greed of the village head, a pawn of the villains. To protect her secret and secure their survival, Lin Wanyi is forced to ally with Lu Chen, a taciturn hunter of unknown origins. She doesn’t know that Lu Chen is actually the General Who Guards the North, gravely wounded and left with amnesia after a palace coup. He is also burdened with a deadly secret that could topple the dynasty.

One brings knowledge of agriculture and infrastructure far ahead of its time; the other offers protection with his remaining military skills and strength. Together, they start by improving farming tools and building irrigation works, transforming the barren village into a haven amid the chaos. Yet the old order’s exploitation, along with hostility from their surroundings and oppression from society, follows them like a shadow. A greedy county magistrate wants to seize the fruits of their labor, hostile aristocratic clans see them as a threat, and spies from the capital are closing in on Lu Chen’s true identity. Before the harvest, they must build up enough strength to defend themselves, with the clock ticking down, and make an impossible choice: should they keep to themselves and protect this small patch of peace, or use their fledgling settlement as a spark and enter the struggle for the realm, seeking to change this rotten dynasty? Their choice will decide whether this land becomes a secluded paradise or the cornerstone of a new age.
