Longing for the Same Old Days: Xiang Liu Is Reborn

Reborn: Xiang Liu Returns is an orthodox fan-fiction sequel that strictly follows the ending and setting of the Lost You Forever TV series. After Xiang Liu died in battle, the crystal sphere he had carved with his own hands, containing a world beneath the sea, remained intact. Instead, it absorbed its master’s final drop of blood and the spiritual energy that lingered within him, transforming on the ocean floor into an independent, complete miniature world:

In this realm, spirit springs nourish the soul, exotic flowers and herbs grow everywhere, and a miniature sea circulates without end. Even more wondrously, over the course of a hundred years, this little world gave birth to a natural spirit: Guibao. With the appearance of a ten-year-old child and a spirit turtle as its true form, Guibao is lively and adorable, and serves as the caretaker of the icy realm.

Xiang Liu’s soul was nourished and restored by the spirit springs, and his body was rebuilt. But this new life came at a cost: his memories were sealed away. He forgot everything from his past with “Xiao Yao,” and stayed there to recuperate by instinct, keeping Guibao company.

A hundred years after Xiao Yao and Tushan Jing went into seclusion, a disturbance in the East Sea led Xiao Yao to reenter the mortal world in the guise of a man, Wen Xiaoliu, to investigate the source of the spiritual energy. By chance, she entered the world inside the crystal sphere. There she found Xiang Liu alive, and saw the look in his eyes: he no longer knew her at all.

Meanwhile, all their old friends, including Cang Xuan, Tushan Jing, A Nian, Ru Shou, Zuo Er, and Miao Pu, would be drawn into this reunion sparked by the crystal sphere, whether by duty, concern, or fate. When the guardian spirit Guibao asked in a childish voice, “Who are you?” a story spanning death and forgetfulness began anew.
