Crossing at No Worry: Together for a Lifetime

Three years apart, longing turned to sickness; through the world of demons and mortals, only love can save us.

Xuan Ye has returned.

Three years ago, he closed the Realm of Wuyou to save all living beings, severed his romantic ties, and vanished from Banxia’s world. But when he finally came back, he discovered that the girl who had once bravely stood against the whole world for him was now lost in delusions, spending her days with phantoms. She remembered everyone, yet could no longer tell the real him apart from an illusion.

Banxia was trapped in a maze of memories, retracing the days she had spent with Xuan Ye again and again, yet unable to recognize the old friend standing before her. At times lucid, at times mad, only when she bit his finger on a rainy night could she briefly grasp what was real. “It hurts… This isn’t a dream.”

Yet Guangping City did not welcome this half-human, half-demon returnee. When a series of “painted-skin performer” murders struck the opera troupe, and Xuan Ye’s demonic form was exposed before everyone’s eyes, Banxia held tightly to his hand amid the hostility of the entire city. “If he were an evil demon, he would have eaten me a hundred times over by now!”

Their road to staying together was strewn with thorns, from healing her delusions and standing up to convention to taking in little demons and rebuilding a home. And when the conspiracy left behind by Shen Tunan resurfaced, and Xuan Ye’s demonic power began to turn against him, they would finally understand:

Staying together forever isn’t about being side by side every day. It’s about you taking my hand at the edge of the abyss and saying, “In this life, I’ll stay by your side to the very end.”
