The Sword’s Soul Sinks Among the Stars

In the twenty-third year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming dynasty, undercurrents stir across the martial world, and the star chart becomes a blade.

Deep beneath a frigid pool atop Mount Wuyi, the Xuanji Map appears. Concealing the fate of a dynasty, its interwoven stellar paths strangely mirror the lifeblood of the Grand Canal and the dragon energy of the imperial tombs. Duan Wuya, heir to the Seven Transformations of Cloud and Water, comes upon the secret scroll by chance, unaware that he has become a pawn in a game that will shake the realm

Murong Qianqiu, the one-eyed head of Jinling's Murong clan, divines the secrets of fate through Ziwei astrology and uses the imperial court's "Purple Star Guards" to set the **Seven-Star River-Sealing Formation; Chu Baxian, chief helmsman of the Twelve Chain Piers, holds the secret waterways of the Grand Canal in his hands, yet faces a moral dilemma in the face of overwhelming power; mysterious musician Xiao Yueli hides murderous intent in every note of Guangling Melody. When the ice-soul needles emerge from her Jiao-tail zither, they reveal a case from twenty years ago: the mysterious sudden death of the martial alliance leader.

Martial arts from a frigid pool beneath an inverted waterfall of stars collide with Miaojiang secrets that use Gu poison to ensnare the soul.

Ancient treasures from a previous dynasty, buried beneath the dark river with swords, entangle the court in a deadly web of intrigue.

When the Big Dipper forms a deadly array above the Yangtze's seven locks, Duan Wuya finally understands the ultimate meaning of the Seven Transformations of Cloud and Water:

A warrior can cut down a thousand men, but cannot sever the bloody scars of the realm etched into the star chart; a hero can quell a thousand upheavals, but cannot satisfy the bottomless greed of the human heart.

In this martial world,

one move, "Awakening of Insects," can turn rain into swords and cut through the Purple Star Guards' poisoned crossbow formation,

but it cannot break the bloodstained official banner hanging from a canal boat;

one performance of Guangling Melody can shatter metal and jade, and smash the star-chart prosthetic eye in the Murong estate,

but it cannot make the Imperial Jade Seal ring out from the bottom of the Sunken Sword Pool.
