The Great Sage Returns: Why Fear Another Battle in This World?

[No System! Set after Journey to the West! The Great Sage Returns!]

After completing the pilgrimage, Sun Wukong became a Buddha, but he was still far from attaining the true Great Dao. To pursue it, he left the Pangu World and entered Chaos. However, Tathagata lured him into the endless Dark Ruins.

Faced with the terrifying power of the Dark Ruins, even Sun Wukong, famed as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven of the Pangu World and revered as the Victorious Fighting Buddha, could not withstand it. Powerful Dark Ruins beings also dwelled within.

This time, Sun Wukong truly found himself in dire straits.

But at the critical moment, an ancient stone stele descended. The Dark Ruins beings and the power of the Dark Ruins alike retreated.

It was a stone stele containing supreme laws.

Even so, Sun Wukong could not escape the endless Dark Ruins. Lost within, he no longer knew how much time had passed.

At some point, Sun Wukong suddenly felt a splitting headache. It was the Tightening-Crown Spell, though the crown was no longer on his head. Yet the spell saved him: using it, Sun Wukong found the direction of the Pangu World and returned to it.

But the Pangu World had changed beyond recognition. Buddhas were no longer Buddhas, gods were no longer gods, and the entire world was shrouded in evil. Amid that evil, Sun Wukong caught the scent of a familiar power: the power of the Dark Ruins. The gods and Buddhas of the myriad heavens had all become Dark Ruins beings.

"Tathagata, Jade Emperor, so that's how it is!"

"Then this old Sun will fight this world again. What of it?"
