Great Tang: Crown Prince Li Chengqian Asks Your Majesty to Abdicate

At the height of the glorious Zhenguan era, the empire shines like the noonday sun. Yet in the shadows of the Golden Hall, the struggle for the throne has already become a bone-eating poison.

I, Li Chengqian, Crown Prince of the Great Tang, should have been the brightest star beneath the imperial sun. Instead, I've become a pawn sacrificed by my father to balance the court, a stepping stone for my younger brother's ambitions, and a “good-for-nothing” destined to be crushed by history. A crippled leg? Imprisonment? Humiliation? Is this the “favor” the Heavenly Khan grants his firstborn son?!

Hatred! My boundless hatred burns away every thought of compromise!

When the [Supreme Emperor System] descends, and the dust of history grants me eyes that see through everything, this cage of an Eastern Palace becomes the abyss where I lie in wait!

Beat the wicked servants to death. Wash the palace in blood. Let every petty villain learn through fear who the Crown Prince is!

Father? You summon me? Fine! Then see how the wings you broke with your own hands rise again, bloodied but reborn! “I refuse to become a second Li Jiancheng!”

Prince of Wei? Coveting the throne? Fine! First ask my summoned martial god Yue Fei if he'll allow it!

This rotten court, this hypocritical golden age, this rule that divides the world by birthright, all of it must be shattered! I, Li Chengqian, will not only survive, I will reclaim everything that belongs to me, and more!

In the seventeenth year of Zhenguan, the iron hooves of Xuanwu Gate still echoed in memory. With Li Tai's head in my hand and my late mother's memorial tablet on my back, I stormed through the threshold of the Taiji Palace, drenched in blood, and faced the king of kings seated high above!

“Your Majesty, you ask why I rebel?” Li Chengqian sneered, his voice shaking the rafters. “Then tell me, in the ninth year of Wude, who stood at Xuanwu Gate and drenched the palace in blood?!”

Heaven's decree? The people's will? History? From this day on, I will rewrite it all!

“Crown Prince Chengqian requests that Your Majesty... abdicate!”

That winter, the Great Tang changed hands, and a new emperor ascended the throne!
