Synopsis of Scheming for the Throne

Reborn for a comeback, forced conquest, strong heroine, palace and household intrigue, political machinations, beautiful yet tragic characters

◆ “Reborn, I shall make this realm my chessboard, and all living beings my pieces!” ◆

In her previous life, she was a favored concubine in a marquis’s household. The principal wife poisoned her, and her young son died horribly in a well.

Reborn on the night she was pregnant with twins, Shen Qiyue touched the beauty mark beneath her eye and gave a cold laugh:

“If I once used my beauty to serve a man, then I’ll use it to kill one!”

◆ She weaves a web with her beauty and draws it tight with her wits ◆

Her beauty mark helps her detect poison, allowing her to strike back against the principal wife. A dance conceals a message, letting her manipulate the chief minister.

With her icy beauty, she beguiles the emperor and rules from behind the curtain, yet when she finally holds power, she tears history books to shreds:

“Why should my name need to be recorded in the annals?”

◆ Two powerful rivals, locked in a love-hate struggle of exquisite tension ◆

The leader of the secret guards grips her by the throat. “Did you know I saw through your rebirth long ago?”

She smiles as she drinks the poisoned wine, then drives a dagger into his heart:

“So what if you saw through me? Could you bring yourself to kill a face like this?”
