Ji Yan is the illegitimate daughter of the Ji family. No one has loved her since the day she was born. Other people's names carry beauty and blessings; hers is the only one that expresses disgust.
The Ji family handed Ji Yan over to the Li family, where she became Li Jiusheng's secretary and bodyguard. On the surface, she worked for Li Jiusheng, but she was forced to serve the Ji family, too. She had stolen documents and even carried out assassinations.
Li Jiusheng had always known, but he wanted to hear Ji Yan tell him herself why she did those things.

Ji Yan, barely alive: “Ji Yan.”
Li Jiusheng, puzzled: “Which Yan?”
Ji Yan, calm: “The Yan in ‘dislike,’ the Yan in ‘abhorrence.’”
Li Jiusheng, unable to understand: “Why would anyone be named that?”
It's quite beautiful, the characters are well drawn.
