Pokemon: I Am the Electric-Type Champion

“Come out, my partners!” At the call, seven rifts tore open in space. A different Pokemon emerged from each one, their energy making the air tremble within a hundred meters. First to appear was Thunderlight Butterfly, but its form was far more awe-inspiring than before. Its wingspan exceeded five meters, and the lightning runes on its wings had joined together into a complete, ancient formation. Every flap sent visible ripples of electricity through the air. It alighted lightly on Lu Ming’s shoulder, its antennae gently touching the lightning-shaped scar on his abdomen. Their energies synchronized perfectly. Next came Superconductor Clawitzer, the ace that rarely showed itself. Du couldn’t help but draw a sharp breath. Its body was a deep oceanic blue-black, but dangerous bright-blue lightning flowed through the gaps in its shell. Most striking were its specially evolved giant claws. The left one retained the traditional cannon shape, while the right had mutated into a trident, wrapped in crackling plasma. It carefully bumped fists with Lu Ming, the gesture so practiced it seemed they had done it thousands of times. The other Pokemon lined up in turn: golden energy flowed through the lava patterns on Magcargo’s body; Buizel’s flotation sac had become a ring of high-pressure water blades; Chimecho’s bell was now translucent, with lightning flashing inside; Croconaw’s scales had become entirely metallic, their edges sharp as knives; and Braixen’s tail burned with rare golden flames, the heat distorting the scene around it. Du’s Salamence growled uneasily, every scale raised. It was an instinctive reaction to facing an opponent of equal strength.
