After Tathagata Buddha is injured while subduing the demon monkey and withdraws to recuperate, Maitreya Buddha and former subordinates of Dipankara plot to overthrow his rule. Jin Chanzi steps forward to stabilize the situation at Spirit Mountain, seeking support first from Guanyin and then from Amitabha Buddha.
When Tathagata finally emerges from seclusion, a single decree leaves the Buddhas of Spirit Mountain baffled. He not only refrains from punishing Maitreya and the others, but also bestows enlightenment upon the Yellow-Browed Boy, angering demons such as the Golden-Winged Great Peng.
As the thousand-year pact between Buddhism and Daoism approaches, Tathagata and the Jade Emperor secretly discuss the pilgrimage to the West. Jin Chanzi is banished to the mortal realm for “not listening attentively to the Dharma,” but every time the pilgrimage begins, the Curtain-Raising General kills him, forcing him to be reincarnated again. Behind it all lies a greater secret of the Three Realms.
After his elder brother Jin Chanzi is banished, the Golden-Winged Great Peng leads the Scorpion Spirit, the White-Furred Mouse, and others in fleeing Spirit Mountain. They raise the banner of rebellion against Buddhism in the mortal world and establish an anti-Buddhist alliance. The demons of the Western Ox Continent join in one after another under the leadership of the Bull Demon King.
To strengthen the alliance, the Bull Demon King leads the Flood Dragon Demon King, the Lion Camel King, and others to the Northern Julu Continent. They seek out their third brother, the Roc Demon King, and attempt to persuade the demons there to join the alliance.
After the Bull Demon King and his companions work tirelessly, the demons of the Northern Julu Continent finally pour out in force, only to be surrounded by the combined armies of Spirit Mountain and the Heavenly Court. Countless lives are lost on both sides.
To suppress the demons, the Heavenly Court sends the Nine Heavens Demon-Suppressing Celestial Lord to reinforce its forces. It also dispatches the Barefoot Immortal to persuade Lu Ya, the carefree Sword Immortal, to offer secret assistance. In the end, the demons are driven back to the Northern Julu Continent.
On the surface, the Three Realms have returned to peace, but undercurrents are stirring. A group of mysterious demons has appeared at Flower-Fruit Mountain, while Tathagata takes the opportunity to weaken Guanyin's influence. A new crisis is brewing...
The author has finished reading the previous book. This book is a sequel to the previous one. After reading three chapters, I found that the plot setting is very good. The writing style is still the same as the previous one. It is full of dark colors and full of struggles between all parties. The three forces of heaven and Buddhism and Taoism, and among Buddhism, there are overt and covert struggles.
To be honest, when I read that Tathagata's golden body was damaged by a dip in monkey urine, it really made me laugh. The majestic Lord of the Spiritual Mountain was actually destroyed by a dip in monkey urine. Haha, the author's idea is really good.
Also, from the very beginning of this movie, I had a bold idea: Is Jin Chanzi going to fall in love? Will she be guilty of lust and caution [snickering] [smirking]?
Reading what the author writes, there is one thing that is better, that is, it echoes back and forth, which makes it more enjoyable to read. Another point is that the author really has his own opinions and ideas about Journey to the West, some of which are quite unique, and even made me unable to understand Journey to the West before. After reading these books, I feel suddenly enlightened. This is very good and worth recommending.
