Siheyuan: Unlocking Copper-Pot Hot Pot From the Start

When He Yuzhu was squatting at the mouth of the alley, slurping noodles from an enamel mug, he suddenly heard the System announce: [Braised-noodle mastery conquers the whole city. Copper-pot mutton hot pot skill unlocked.]

He grabbed a cleaver and turned his rival's mutton-noodle shop into a hot pot joint. "Come on in, folks, young and old, and try this specialty! The mutton slices are so thin you can see through them, and the sesame sauce smells good enough to steal your soul!"

When Wen Li, her belly swollen with pregnancy, chased him down the alley with a rolling pin, He Yuzhu was winning over the neighborhood office director with sweet-and-sour pork. "Sister-in-law, how about I trade you this dish for your daughter as my son's bride?"

For fifty years, he got zhajiangmian onto the state banquet menu and sold fermented mung bean juice to Michelin-starred restaurants, yet he always kept watch over the iron pot in their crowded courtyard. "Wen Li, our Kitchen God worked another miracle today. Your braised pork rib soup smells even better than Quanjude roast duck!"
