Red Ashes

On the night the Blood Maple Forest went berserk, the spine of a blind boy named Zhang Chen was branded with the mark of the Annihilation Sword. Ten years later, he touches a broken stele in a secret realm. His bamboo sword becomes a blue-edged blade, and blood-red whirlpools open in his vacant eyes.

A forbidden prophecy awakens within the Azure Nether Sword Sect, and blood tears seep from a bronze coffin. When the Enforcement Hall’s sword points at his throat, the boy finally learns that cultivating immortality is a sham: heaven and earth are the furnace, and all living beings are fuel.

The day the starry sky splits open and a colossal bronze gate appears, withered maples burst into flame, and a million sword steles tear through space and time.

This sword

shall sever the shackles of the Heavenly Dao,

shall break the endless night’s cycle of rebirth,

and shall make the gods and demons of the heavens see clearly:

**Even a blind man’s blade can bury the heavens.**
