Dating Show: The Perfect Timing

As a doctor, Xie Nanyao is busy with work, and when she occasionally has some free time, she just wants to rest at home. But Ms. Feng doesn’t see it that way. She thinks Xie Nanyao is wasting her best years by staying cooped up at home instead of going out and having fun. Besides, Nanyao hasn’t dated anyone since her last breakup, so Ms. Feng seriously suspects she still has feelings for her ex. The name Xie Nanyao comes from the Nanyao flowers of the Nanling Mountains. When Mr. Xie and Ms. Feng chose it, they hoped she would grow strong and resilient. Xie Nanyao has indeed grown into the tenacious person her parents hoped she would be. One day, after Xie Nanyao gets home from work, Ms. Feng tells her she has signed her up for a show. She insists Nanyao take part, tells her filming starts in a month, and instructs her to arrange her work accordingly. Nanyao: “Mom, I just don’t have time! It’s really not because I still have feelings for Wu Jiang. Is this necessary? You even signed me up for a dating show. They’re all scripted, so it’s a waste of time.” Ms. Feng: “I’m not an idiot. Nobody’s giving you a script with the contract you signed. Just be yourself. If you don’t meet anyone you like, you can at least make a friend. You’ve saved up so many vacation days. Think of it as taking some time off.”
