Programmer Lu Yuan is pulled into the world of Pokemon: Pokémon Emerald after an all-night bug-fixing session, becoming the boy who was supposed to receive Treecko in Petalburg Woods. When he discovers that his smartphone has transformed into an “All-Knowing Pokedex” that can see a Pokemon’s potential, he promptly snatches the starter that the Petalburg Gym was preparing to give its son. Yet this Treecko, with golden markings on its head, seems to conceal a space-time paradox that even the System cannot analyze.
From the mechanical maze of Hoenn’s gyms to Kanto’s Burning Badge, Lu Yuan travels the road to collecting badges with his mutated Pokemon, which can trigger Ability resonance. Gradually, he discovers that something is wrong with this world: the Shiny Magneton in Mauville City is always watching his phone, and the Kyogre phantom in the Awakened Shrine on Sootopolis Island speaks in binary code. Then, on Mt. Silver, he meets Ash, fresh from his defeat at the Indigo Plateau Conference. When Pikachu’s Thunderbolt clashes with the Leaf Blade of his Sceptile, a rift in space-time bursts open, and Arceus’s roar echoes from within.
