The Night I Opened My Eyes, the Nine-Tailed Fox Burned Through the Heavenly Dao

At the end of the Primordial Era, Heaven, Earth, and the Three Realms have yet to separate. Gods, demons, monsters, humans, witches, and ghosts wage endless war, and the order of the Heavenly Dao lies in chaos.

Bai Li: A nine-tailed celestial fox with the power to wield the “Heart Bewitching Flame.” Contact with the Chaos Ring awakens her memories of a past life: she is a wisp of spiritual essence left behind when Nüwa mended the sky.

Chaos Ring: The “Chaos Ring,” left behind when Pangu created the world, contains the power to create and destroy. It was sealed in the depths of the Guixu Abyss. The Heavenly Dao seeks to establish the Investiture of the Gods list and reshape the order of the Three Realms through a great calamity, but the Chaos Ring’s return has thrown destiny into disarray.

Xiao Yan: A descendant of the Xuanyuan Dynasty and heir to the Xuanyuan Sword, born with the “Emperor’s Bone.” But a demon curse is consuming him, and he needs the Chaos Ring to stay alive.

Netherworld Demon Venerable: His true form is the ferocious beast Qiongqi. He took shape after devouring the resentment of Guixu and rules the Netherworld Continent. He practices forbidden chaos magic and covets the Chaos Ring so he can devour the world.

Jiang Ziya (the celestial strategist): Acting on orders from the Heavenly Venerable Yuanshi, he advances the Investiture of the Gods. Though he appears to help the protagonist, he actually sees Bai Li and the Chaos Ring as pieces in a game of calamity. He intends to use the Chaos Ring to revise the Investiture of the Gods list, even if it means sacrificing the demon and human races.

Yang Jian and Nezha: Acting on Jiang Ziya’s orders, they appear to pursue Bai Li, but secretly protect her. Nezha and Bai Li were comrades in arms in a past life.

Su Daji: A traitor to the nine-tailed fox clan and Bai Li’s twin sister. She fell to the demonic path and joined forces with the Netherworld Demon Venerable, using her “Thousand-Faced Illusion” to sow discord among the various races.

The Witch Clan: Survivors from ancient times who command Primordial Era secret arts and live in seclusion by the Guixu Sea.
