A Mortal’s Path to Immortality

Fifteen-year-old Lu Chen, a herb gatherer, ventures deep into Mount Cangwu to collect century-old ginseng. As the cultivator nears death, he tosses Lu Chen a fragmentary jade slip. “You insignificant ant... Take it and run!” Lu Chen hides in a frigid pool for three days, watching as the cultivator self-destructs and lays waste to everything within ten miles.
