The story is set in modern society, but deliberately downplays modern technology, focusing instead on the collision between social realities and traditional Daoist arts. Beneath the prosperity of today's society, all manner of evil spirits and supernatural disturbances born from the human heart run rampant, providing a stage for Daoist arts to be practiced.
