After the Second Shinobi World War ended, the Land of Rain lay in ruins. Zhen Shicang and Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan struggled to survive together. But after Yahiko and the others went out in search of food one day, the three of them vanished without a trace. Convinced that they had met with disaster, Zhen Shicang finally chose to jump into a river and end his life.
