The Age of Spiritual Energy: Awakening from Three Millennia of Hidden History

During Jingzhe in 2024, all nine stars of the Big Dipper aligned, and a global spiritual qi revival suddenly swept across the world. The laws of reality began to collapse as modern technology blended in strange ways with ancient mystic arts.

Lin Shen, a graduate student in the archaeology department at Yanjing University, was born with heterochromia in his left eye. When an archaeological site collapsed, he fell into a sacrificial pit from the Shang Dynasty while saving the female lead, Su Luo. There, he accidentally activated an ancient secret scroll and gained the "Eye of Zhulong," which lets him see the flow of spiritual qi and rifts in space-time. His true identity is the reincarnation of both the last Shang king's bloodline and the first master of the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion in the early Zhou Dynasty. Su Luo is the 108th inheritor of the "Mystic Bird" legacy within the Night Watchers organization, and the blood of the ancient Phoenix Clan flows through her veins. She wields Xuan Yi, a bronze sword from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. Chu Feng, the leader of the hacker organization Ghost Valley, seems dissolute but controls 37 percent of the world's darknet nodes. He also possesses half of the surviving text of The Book of Lianshan, which lets him predict spiritual qi tides.

The truth behind the ancient "severing of the link between Heaven and Earth" is gradually coming to light. The Investiture of the Gods turns out to be an agreement on the distribution of spiritual qi, signed by the Zhou Son of Heaven and the mystic sects. Now the agreement has expired, and the thirty-six Grotto Heavens and seventy-two Blessed Lands are about to reappear. Lin Shen's Eye of Zhulong is the key to restarting the Investiture of the Gods war. Various factions are stirring beneath the surface. The Ninth Bureau controls nuclear weapons and technology that combines them with spiritual qi; the Night Watchers have carried on their legacy for three thousand years and command the secret arts of The Book of Guicang; Guixu is made up of global conglomerates and fallen spirits, and seeks to open the Eastern Sea's Gate to Guixu and summon ancient gods; the mysterious Heavenly Secrets Pavilion has members who can rewrite the laws of reality. Amid this chaotic age, Lin Shen and the others explore ancient mysteries while getting caught up in a civilization-wide struggle spanning three thousand years. The mysteries surrounding them, such as countdown numbers and AI self-awareness, also remain to be unraveled.
