Hui Kong of the Cangqiong Sect is sent away from the sect after making a mistake. He goes to cultivate on Gourd Mountain near Jiangzhou City, where he takes two disciples, Jin Shanjia and Hu Xiaoming.
One day, a snake demon and a scorpion spirit held captive on Cangqiong Mountain escape. Hui Kong sends Jin Shanjia and Hu Xiaoming down the mountain to subdue them.
After they descend, Jin Shanjia and Hu Xiaoming meet Cheng Yun, the daughter of Jiangzhou City’s lord, and Xiao Zhao, who comes from an immortal sect, among others. As they capture the demons, Hu Xiaoming’s origins are revealed, and a great battle between the immortal sects and the demon clans follows.
