I was away on a two-month business trip, and my wife sent me video messages every day.
But strangely, after I came home, she wouldn't let me touch her.
On our wedding anniversary, she dressed up carefully.
“I'm not coming home tonight.”
Before I could ask why, she flung an ultrasound report at me.
“I'm six weeks pregnant.”
My dignity as a man lay shattered.
I broke down and wanted us to die together, but in the end, all I could manage was a hoarse whisper:
“Let's get a divorce.”
“Why get a divorce?
“The child may not be yours, but isn't it enough that I'll always be by your side?”
