Qin Xuan bears an ancient sword bone, yet a curse from the Heavenly Dao has reduced him to a cripple, leaving him to suffer endless humiliation. During a sect trial, his clan brother sabotages him and sends him plunging off a cliff. On the brink of death, he awakens a sword soul that has slept for a hundred thousand years in the abyss below. With one sword stroke, he slays his enemy and returns in triumph! At the sect tournament, he sweeps aside the young prodigies, only to be crushed by Li Tianming, the Chosen One, wielding the power of the Heavenly Dao. With his bones shattered, Qin Xuan still sneers defiantly: "When my sword bone is fully matured, I'll take your head and offer it to Heaven!" To break free from the shackles of fate, he ventures alone into the ruins of the Sword God, endures countless swords piercing his heart with his bare body, and subdues a forbidden sword intent. With a single stroke, he even knocks the veil from the face of Leng Yue, the Chosen Maiden sent to kill him: "The Heavenly Dao controls people's hearts. Are you content to be its dog?"
After leaving the sect, he cuts down three thousand pursuers with his sword and establishes a sword path that defies Heaven, joining forces with Leng Yue to fight the Heavenly Dao. In the final battle, Li Tianming is turned into a puppet by the Heavenly Dao and detonates his Wheel of Destiny to help Qin Xuan shatter the secrets of Heaven. Qin Xuan severs the sword soul plotting to possess his body, then shatters the Heavenly Dao's golden body with a broken sword and remakes the laws of countless realms! Before Leng Yue's memories fade, she smiles through her tears. He, meanwhile, tramples the path to immortality beneath his feet and sets off alone toward the void. "What the hell is the Heavenly Dao? With this sword, I'll cut through every shackle in the heavens!"
