My Best Friend and I Transmigrated into a Book as Cannon-Fodder Nobodies

Starting a new story! (Actually, I’ve already written a lot of it locally.) Dogger here. This is a no-romance story about best friends, featuring quick transmigration and transmigration into a book. It’s packed with all sorts of wild ideas, old clichés, and terrible jokes, so there’s plenty of fun. I write whatever comes to mind: no prefab content and no AI help. My writing is only so-so, so please bear with me. It all happened so suddenly. Two best friends woke up to find themselves inside a novel they’d once read, playing minor cannon-fodder characters. Then a System showed up and told them they had to complete a mission to drive outsiders out of the world of the book if they wanted to go home. Well, since they’re already here, and they can make money, that’s great... right??? The fake version of transmigrating into a book: I’ll change this world and become the heroine! The real version: Where’s the hero? Where’s the heroine? Where’s the villain? Heh, we can’t find any of them. Maybe this is just the fate of minor cannon fodder.
