It was early morning, but the summer heat still lingered outside. With the air conditioner on, the room was as cold as winter after a snowfall. Beneath the covers, Lin Tang had been roused by a ray of sunlight and turned over irritably. She opened one eye and checked the time. The clock pointed to nine. Lin Tang, who was usually already in the lab by then, had rarely slept so late. She opened her eyes, stretched, then threw off the covers and got out of bed. With a swish, she pulled open the curtains, flooding the room with light. Outside the window, roses of every color were in full bloom. She opened the window, and their rich fragrance gradually spread through the room.
After getting ready, Lin Tang finally wandered over to the front desk to ask where the restaurant was. A handsome young man sat there, bored, playing a game on his phone. The sounds of fighting in the game rang especially clearly through the quiet lobby.
Lin Tang frowned and tapped the desk. Only then did the handsome young man put away his phone and slowly look up. Lin Tang was instantly met with a face so handsome it was almost unfair. His bright, dark eyes were shaped like a phoenix's, and a beauty mark at the corner of his right eye made his features seem even more exquisitely perfect. His lips, curved in a beautiful smile, parted and moved.
“Hello.”
