Wu Le is the last surviving bloodline of the Tianwu Clan. He has been used to seeing life and death since childhood, because not a single baby was born into the Tianwu Clan after he came into the world.
But no one in the clan understood that this had nothing to do with the last person born. They all knew that prosperity must eventually give way to decline, a lesson passed down through their heritage. The Tianwu Clan had continued for thousands of years, and even an ordinary Tianwu could easily live for seven or eight hundred years. Over the past millennium, the clan had amassed countless treasures and resources, but Heaven seemed unwilling to let them prosper forever. Since Wu Le’s birth, no child had been born into the clan.
The Tianwu Clan’s inherited power was an immensely formidable ability known as the Word Spirit. After no more children were born, they decided not to pass the legacy on to Wu Le. They did not expect him to have descendants. They simply wanted the clan’s last young member to live his entire life in peace, free from worry and safe from harm. The wealth they had passed down over thousands of years was more than enough for Wu Le to live for several thousand years.
There was another, more important reason: although their power grew more extraordinary as it grew stronger, it came at a price. They lived a long time, but were in constant pain, as if the Word Spirit techniques they spoke exacted their cost from them many times over. So they did not want Wu Le to endure the same constant pain throughout his body.
Main pairing: Wu Le and Hei Xiazi
There will be other side pairings, but I haven’t decided who to include yet.
