The Rules of Running from a Wedding: The Regent’s Beloved

A modern woman who refuses to marry clashes with an ancient law of execution: a double game of political intrigue and true love.

Su Ningning, a woman from the 21st century, had watched her parents' unhappy marriage from childhood, so she was a thoroughly committed marriage refuser.

Her birthday party instantly turned into a mass matchmaking-and-marriage lecture.

“Ningning, you're almost thirty. Why aren't you married yet?” Words like these bombarded her.

After enduring years of pressure to marry, she finally snapped: “I'm not getting married!”

She stormed out, only to get into a car accident. When she woke up, she found herself in the Great Ye Dynasty, where unmarried women aged twenty-two were dragged off to be beheaded, and men who hadn't married by twenty-five were exiled to the frontier!

She had transmigrated into the body of Su Ningning, an illegitimate daughter of the Su family who was already twenty years old!

Su Ningning witnessed the chancellor's daughter narrowly escape execution with her own eyes. From that moment on, she understood just how cruel this world was!

To stay alive, Su Ningning publicly declared “freedom of marriage” at an imperial betrothal banquet, shocking everyone.

Regent Song Yan narrowed his eyes. “This woman is interesting.”

To save her life, she temporarily agreed to marry a dim-witted young marquis, only for the Su family and others to force her into the bridal sedan and make her complete the wedding ceremony. On their wedding night, she tried to escape over a wall and fell straight into Song Yan's bath.

Song Yan: “What, you saw me and touched me, and now you think you can run?!”

Su Ningning: “You want me to take responsibility for you, too?”

Song Yan: “Someone like you would have grass a meter high over her grave by now.”

Su Ningning: “I can cure your poison! But we need three rules: no sharing a bed, no children, and once the poison is gone, you let me go.”

One night, voices rang out from the room: “What happened to those three rules we agreed on?!”
