Good writing, a fast-paced plot, and a protagonist who isn't stupid. No messy romance plots, please. (If you can't write romance, why not just make it romance-free? (╥ω╥`)) I read all kinds of genres, male- and female-oriented alike, except for authors who just write whatever they feel like.

Anti-Qing, awakening, revival, the Republic of China, communism, resistance against Japan, unification, resistance against America, going to the countryside, China.
