Yi Si answers only, “I broke through the barrier between worlds.”
He says nothing more.
After hearing this, the interrogator looks up at him and asks, “With the abilities and status of a game NPC?”
The game Second Cage invaded reality, permanently changing the order of the world. Yet the mastermind behind it all was an NPC in the game, whom everyone had assumed was a player.
His file records his past like this: “Though an NPC, Yi Si took part in the game just like an ordinary player.”
That was no mistake. Yi Si really did act like a player. Only when he died for the first time did people learn that he was just an NPC: an NPC who had reached the pinnacle of the game by posing as a player.
But he doesn’t care about the questions others ask him. Yi Si foresaw this ending long ago, as memories of his past journey keep resurfacing in his mind.
