A Single Step to the Top: I Went from Heaven's Lackey to the Dao Ancestor

Shen Lang transmigrated to a world that was much the same as the one he'd left behind. Shen Lang was reborn at sixteen, just as he was starting his second year of high school. On the night he transmigrated and was reborn, Shen Lang got the chance to interview with the Heavenly Dao. After a thorough yet easy-to-understand conversation, he learned from the Heavenly Dao that this was a world beyond the ordinary. He also landed himself a job: helping the people chosen by the Heavenly Dao to fulfill their destinies overcome their predicaments. Shen Lang agreed without hesitation. He also gained a pair of eyes that could see other people's merits and sins. Helping the virtuous and punishing the sinful would both earn him merit. And merit could grant Shen Lang insight on par with the Heavenly Dao... On the street, Shen Lang looked around. An old man with golden light above his head fell over. Shen Lang's eyes lit up, and he shouted, "Nobody move! I'll help him!!!" A man with red light all over his head walked past Shen Lang. His eyes flashed, and he immediately shouted, "Hold it! I can tell you're no good. Take this kick!!!" By rooting out evil (striking people with red light over their heads) and helping the vulnerable (assisting people with golden light over their heads), Shen Lang relied on his extraordinary insight (borrowed against future merit) to climb higher, one step at a time, until he became the Dao Ancestor of this world!
