The Anonymous Game

Ordinary programmer Zhou Mo receives an anonymous death threat. The sender claims they want to reclaim the life he "stole." Every clue points to Lin Shen, his deceased high school desk mate. But when Zhou Mo finds the grave, the groundskeeper tells him, "A young man who looked about seventy percent like you came by last week." Zhou Mo's investigation uncovers eerie gaps in his memories: "Lu Chen," whose ten years of chat history have appeared out of nowhere on his phone; a biochip hidden inside his childhood teddy bear; and an anonymous sender who can alter real-world data to create "cognitive prisons." To break out of this trap, he infiltrates the black market for brain-computer interfaces and discovers that it trades in memory fragments extracted using neural pulse-folding technology. He is, in fact, Experimental Subject No. 07, worth tens of millions. When hypnosis uncovers the long-buried truth, Zhou Mo learns that witnessing a laboratory explosion at the age of eight caused him to split off a "shadow personality." All the persecution was a projection of his own mind. At last, the mastermind reveals himself: his father's former assistant has been running a dark web for memory trading, hoping to use the AI algorithm sealed inside Zhou Mo's brain to rebuild a "cognitive empire." In this battle where reality and illusion intertwine, Zhou Mo must join forces with his other personality to crack the memory anchors planted throughout the city within 72 hours. The final, chilling twist reveals that the so-called "anonymous sender" is a collective subconscious formed by all the victims whose memories were altered.
