Long Awaited, Yet Nowhere to Be Found in This World

“My husband and I have long been destined to meet. Nothing in this world could compare.” Shan Yubai and Jin Yangxi meet across several lifetimes, bound together by countless ties. This book is an attempt to seek a fated connection and entrust a cherished longing to its pages. In their first life, the two meet through music. Young Master Yubai encounters the person who will amaze him for the rest of his life while still young, but can only gaze up at her from afar. When they meet again, it is already time to part. Beneath the moon, Jin Yangxi transforms into an old man and plays one last song for his soulmate… In their second life, the two meet as children. He should have been her comfort, but the difference in their status keeps him quietly by her side for years. She was his hope, yet she drifts away in the very year the light appears… “Beneath the moon, he takes up his brush and paints her. The wind rises, flowers fall, and she stirs his pity. With just one glance, a few strokes of ink, all that remains is a lonely shadow keeping silent company with a guttering candle in the wind.” In their third life, a young lady from a marquis’s household and a young master from a prominent clan grow up together. Their childhood friendship turns into a love-hate relationship through misunderstandings, but as adults they are truly inseparable, and at last he wins the beauty’s companionship through all four seasons. In their fourth life, I wake from the dream, and finally let go.
