Synopsis

[Sorry! This one flopped too. Please check out the third book, The Tale of Daiyu's Journey West: A Pilgrimage, or a Wrecking?]

When they first meet beneath Five Elements Mountain, Wukong opens his mouth and calls her Master. Daiyu coolly retorts, "You've got a pair of gleaming eyes, yet you call me Master without looking. Can't you see I'm a woman?"

Guanyin offers her the golden headband. Daiyu smiles faintly. "Who in the Three Realms doesn't have a golden headband of their own?"

When they encounter the Six-Eared Bandits, Daiyu holds up an ornate floral hat and laughs to Wukong, "Your sister Guanyin had this custom-made just for you. Want to put it on?"

At Eagle Sorrow Gorge, they meet the White Dragon. The dragon says, "I am the crown prince of the West Sea Dragon King. How could I ever be a woman's mount?"

At Gao Village, they meet Zhu Ganglie. Daiyu says, "Go on, then. I don't take lechers."

At the Flowing Sand River, they meet Sha Wujing. Wujing says, "I've already eaten nine generations of pilgrims. Add a girl like you, and that makes a nice round number."

Lin Daiyu burns her poems and cuts off her infatuation, her soul returning to the Illusory Realm of the Great Void. At last she sees through it all: what people call fate is nothing more than a script already written.

Furious, she rebels. By a twist of fate in the passage of reincarnation, she intercepts the karmic thread of Jin Chanzi's tenth reincarnation and enters another predestined heavenly mandate in a woman's body.

She leads Wukong, Bajie, Shasheng, the White Dragon, and the rest in challenging Buddhism's heavenly mandate, Heaven's rules, and the destiny of the Illusory Realm of the Great Void.

She reshapes the eighty-one trials through empathy, fearlessly talks back to every god and Buddha in the heavens, and rebuilds the cycle of fate and reincarnation with her wisdom.

She will become neither Buddha, immortal, nor deity. She will prove her own path, stand shoulder to shoulder with the gods as a mortal, and win this for all living beings: I decide my own fate.

And as for herself...

Looking for a Story With a First Chapter That Makes You Want to Keep Reading

I often give up after the first chapter. I want a completed story with a male and female lead and plenty of romance, around 500,000 characters long. No entertainment-industry stories, and I want a fresh premise, not an overused formula. ⭕️ Most importantly, it needs to keep me hooked through the early chapters.
