A Woman in a Man’s Body, Determined to Pass the Civil Service Exams and Escape Poverty

Xie Chenxi died suddenly after staying up late to work overtime. When he woke, he found himself in total darkness and thought he had been kidnapped. He struggled to escape, only to realize there wasn't enough room to stretch out at home. Just then, a woman cried out, “Er Niu, our baby just kicked me! With so much energy, he must be a healthy boy.” Another voice, a man's, replied, “Rest at home for a while, dear. I'll go work in the fields by myself.”

Xie Chenxi was struck as if by lightning. He realized he was in the womb, and from their conversation, it sounded like his family was poor. Perhaps because he was still in the womb, he soon drifted off to sleep again.
