Illustrated Treatise on Febrile Diseases (Collection Edition with Colored Illustrations in Vernacular): Returning to the Fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine
"Treatise on Febrile Diseases" is China's first monograph on syndrome differentiation and treatment of the six classics. It is a companion volume to "Synopsis of the Golden Chamber". The two together form "Treatise on Febrile Diseases and Miscellaneous Diseases", which is known as the four classics of traditional Chinese medicine along with "Huangdi Neijing", "Difficult Classic" and "Shen Nong's Materia Medica". The outstanding achievement of "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" is the establishment of the syndrome differentiation system of the six meridians, and expounds the pulse identification, syndrome examination, treatment, prescription, and medication rules at each stage of exogenous diseases. The book contains a total of 113 prescriptions, with clear indications, strict compatibility, and refined medicinal flavor. Therefore, it was praised as the "ancestor of all prescriptions" by later generations. In order to present this medical classic more comprehensively and perfectly, we have made editing innovations in the original work: first, based on the Song version of "Treatise on Febrile Diseases", which has the greatest influence in history, and referring to the annotations of "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" by famous writers such as Cheng Wuji, we translated it into a smooth and beautiful modern text. A brief explanation of traditional Chinese medicine is provided for each translation; secondly, by introducing modern diagramming techniques, complexity is transformed into simplicity, abstraction is transformed into concreteness, so that everyone can understand this ancient medical treasure. Secondly, each medicine is supplemented, based on their derivative relationship with ancient civilization, and the original book is supplemented and enriched in the form of concise and comprehensive topics with pictures and texts. Thirdly, four types of illustrations including line drawings, exquisite color drawings, and human body drawings of each medicinal are explained, striving to preserve its classical characteristics and maximize its practical value. It can be used as one of the essential reference books on the desks of medical workers, and as a classic of modern people's life and health.
