Huaiyang District has a long history. It was the capital established by Taihao Fuxi, the legendary ancestor of Chinese civilization, and is one of the earliest cradles of the Chinese people as well as the birthplace of Chinese surname culture. Its history can be traced back 570 million years. Formerly known as Wanqiu, Chen, and the State of Chen, it underwent numerous administrative changes and changes of name. During the Qin dynasty, the establishment of Chen County marked the basic formation of the county's territory, and it later became part of Chen Commandery. In the Han dynasty, Huaiyang Commandery was established in the seventh year of Emperor Gaozu's reign, followed by the establishment of the Kingdom of Huaiyang in the eleventh year. Chen County became an important part of it. From then on, the history of this place was closely intertwined with Huaiyang's, bearing witness to the vicissitudes and flourishing development of the land.
Huaiyang District is rich in tourist attractions, including the Pingliangtai Ancient City Ruins, a nationally protected cultural heritage site, and the Taihao Mausoleum Scenic Area.
