The Youth That Quietly Slipped Away

I'm already in my thirties, and I haven't made any money or accomplished anything at work. My life is a complete mess. Sigh, it's been more than ten years, hasn't it? I've lived such a miserable life. It feels like I've never done a single thing right. When I was supposed to study, I didn't study well; when it was time to earn money, I didn't make any. I haven't been a good child to my parents either. I want to get everything right. My expectations aren't even that high, so why does life always work against me? I've never been anyone's favorite or exception, and I haven't become the person I wanted to be. This awful life has drained away all my youth. Nothing goes right; everything disappoints. They say hardship comes before happiness, but I've been waiting on that promise year after year.
