After I Faked My Death and Escaped, My Wife, Who Loved Her Childhood Friend, Went Mad

My wife is a medium.

When we got married, I asked her if she would be heartbroken if I died someday.

She said firmly that she wouldn't. After all, she could communicate with spirits, so she would find me no matter where I drifted off to. A love story between the living and the dead sounded pretty good, too.

But later, her childhood sweetheart returned from abroad.

Everything changed.

She used being friends as an excuse to cross the line with him at every turn.

She even let him provoke me and cheat on me. I put up with all of it because I loved her.

That is, until my mother was given a terminal prognosis and wanted to see us one last time.

But my wife chose to abandon me and translate the last words of her sweetheart's Maine Coon.

My heart felt as if it had been cut to pieces, and I finally gave up on her.

My mother passed away with regrets. I handled all the arrangements alone, signed the papers, and saw off the last family I had in this world.

Then, while my wife was celebrating her sweetheart's birthday, I faked my death and disappeared.

“The thing I regret most in this life is falling in love with you. In this life and the next, may we never meet again!”
